The Ministry of Commerce has introduced around 80 amendments to the Import Policy Order, 2022 through S.R.O. 1207(I)/2026. The changes revise several Harmonized System codes appearing in the prohibited, conditional and used-goods appendices.
Certain categories of metal ash, plastic scrap, zinc scrap, antimony scrap, beryllium scrap and electronic waste have been removed from the completely prohibited list. Audio amplifiers have been added to the conditional list, while specified insulin medicines, hormonal contraceptives, television cameras, digital cameras and video recorders have been removed from earlier conditional restrictions.
Restrictions on selected used electronic equipment, cameras and medical or surgical instruments have also been relaxed. However, removal from one appendix does not necessarily eliminate environmental, quarantine, quality or departmental approvals. Importers should confirm the complete regulatory position, correct tariff classification and any licence or clearance requirement before shipment.
